The Naples Zoo is located within what began as Dr. Henry Nehrling’s “Tropical Garden,” in 1919. In this video, Naples Zoo’ Director of Conservation, Tim Tetzlaff talks about the zoo’s colorful history.
This year, Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens celebrates four anniversaries: 95 years as a botanical garden; 60 years being open to the public; 45 years as a zoo; and 10 years since the vote to purchase the land. It’s been a wild 95 years with an even more exciting future ahead!
